Wedlake Bell advises Global Risk Partners on its latest acquisition

City law firm Wedlake Bell advised Global Risk Partners on its acquisition of a majority shareholding in DCJ Group Insurance and Risk Management. The value of the deal was not disclosed and it has received regulatory approval.

The transaction is the latest for Global Risk Partners as it continues to implement its ambitious retail broking acquisitions programme and follows the recent announcement of the acquisition of Guardian IB.  Global Risk Partners has now acquired 32 businesses since it was founded in 2013 and handles more than £650m of premium.

DCJ Group Insurance is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and was established in 1991. The company provides a range of insurance services for businesses and private clients, in addition to social and charity organisations. The business will continue to be led by David Jones (CEO) and Chris Breeze (MD) post completion and GRP will support the business in its future growth plans.

The Wedlake Bell Team advising Global Risk Partners was led by Corporate Partner, Nigel Taylor and he was assisted by Rebecca Patrickson, Senior Associate and David Ambler, Trainee Solicitor in the Corporate Team.  DCJ Group Insurance and Risk Management was advised by Chris Sellars of Banner Jones.  Wedlake Bell worked closely with Andrew Hunter, General Counsel of Global Risk Partners.

Nigel Taylor, Partner at Wedlake Bell, comments:

“It was a pleasure to advise Global Risk Partners on its latest acquisition. The Wedlake Bell Team provided strategic legal advice to help ensure a smooth transaction and we look forward to working again with Global Risk Partners in the future as it continues to grow.”
