Wedlake Bell has advised new client, Blue Skies Space Limited, a space data company, on its recent equity fundraise of over £2 million to accelerate the launch of its innovative science satellites. This funding round includes new investment from the Space Frontier Fund of Japan’s SPARX Group Co. Ltd – and follow-on investment from SFC Capital.
Blue Skies Space is a science data company that has developed a new class of satellites to provide high quality data to the global scientific community, transferring the benefits of new commercial space sector developments to academic research.
The Space Frontier Fund of Japan’s SPARX Group Co. Ltd, was launched in 2020 following investment from Toyota Motor Corporation, Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Sumitomo Banking Corporation. SFC Capital is the UK’s most active seed-stage investor.
