Head of the Private Client, Jenny Cutts has been quoted in The Times, discussing her response to new research that shows local authorities are entering into anti-competitive and unaccountable contracts with probate genealogists.
Jenny comments that the research “demonstrates the need to tread with caution when dealing with heir-hunting firms. If you are contacted by an heir hunter it is unlikely to provide you with details of the deceased relative and, unless you have an idea of who it could be, doing the heir hunting yourself could be like searching a black hole.”
