Wedlake Bell, is pleased to announce that it is has won “gold” for Company of the Year – Female Leadership (SME) in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2018. The Awards ceremony was held on 22 February at the Rosewood Hotel in London.
The Powerwomen Awards are in their sixth year and are designed to recognise the female leaders of both today and tomorrow in the wealth sector. The Awards celebrate individuals and companies who support caregiving responsibilities, female leadership and diversity. The submissions process is based on self-nomination and the winners are then determined by an independent panel of industry judges made up of ten leading professionals across the legal, accounting and financial industries. In its category Wedlake Bell was shortlisted alongside six other firms.
In its Award submission, Wedlake Bell showcased its contribution to the profession in particular the firm’s female Partners’ leadership and vision on diversity, engagement with outside initiatives, including the Law Society Diversity Access Scheme and its impressive gender diversity statistics. Wedlake Bell is committed to promoting the organic growth of talent on merit – across the firm as a whole, nearly two-thirds (62%) are female. This is mirrored at the senior levels of the firm, with nearly half (44%) of the firm’s equity partnership being women and Kim Lalli being elected as the firm’s first female Senior Partner, beginning a four year term in January 2017.
