Wedlake Bell further strengthens its Private Client, Intellectual Property and Data Protection offerings with three new Partners, including a Head of Trade Marks

Wedlake Bell, has expanded its Private Client, Intellectual Property and Data Protection teams with the addition of three new Partners; Charles Wang from Rosenblatt, Charlotte Wilding and Alexander Dittel both from Deloitte and previously Kemp Little. All three appointments are with immediate effect and demonstrate Wedlake Bell’s continued investment and recruitment across key areas of the business.

Charles Wang joins as a Partner in the Private Client team from Rosenblatt, where he led the firm’s China Desk. As a native mandarin speaking lawyer and dual-qualified solicitor in England and PRC lawyer (non-practicing) in China, Charles has specific expertise on advising Chinese Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWI), High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and companies on a broad range of legal matters when they are investing in the UK. With over fifteen years’ experience Charles has strong capabilities advising on multi-jurisdictional matters through his time working in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai.

Charlotte Wilding joins Wedlake Bell’s intellectual property team as Head of Trade Marks.  This marks a significant extension of the firm’s existing IP offering because for the first time it will now offer clients a “one stop shop” for their trade mark filings and portfolio management.  As a UK Chartered and European Trade Mark and Design lawyer, Charlotte is renowned in the market and was endorsed in the World Trademark Review 1000 2021 as a “valued adviser who takes time to listen to clients questions and dispenses credible, pragmatic, clear and sensible advice. Her combination of speed and precision is striking.” Charlotte’s sphere of work includes IP strategy and clearance, advising on filing and prosecution of UK, EU and international trade marks and designs, as well as handling contentious matters before the UK IPO and internationally.     She is joined by Emilia Petrossian, Trainee Trade Mark Attorney, also from Deloitte and previously Kemp Little.

Alexander Dittel brings considerable expertise in data protection and data privacy issues with over ten years experience working in Big Tech and private practice across a myriad of sectors such as, technology, fintech, advertising, cloud computing and property. His global experience will further enhance the IP and Commercial offering at Wedlake Bell, providing practical and expert advice to clients in new technologies, including AI.

The hiring of the three Partners is part of Wedlake Bell’s ongoing commitment to providing its clients with leading advisers across all business and client service offerings. The appointments will bolster Wedlake Bell’s Partners to 73 and enhance the firm’s overall market leading position.
