Trade Marks and Designs

Your brand and intellectual property are central to your business – and protecting them is at the core of our practice.

We are one of a small number of UK law firms with an in-house trade mark filing and prosecution practice managed by trade mark attorneys as who work alongside our IP lawyers. Clients choose us for our depth of expertise, sector knowledge and ability to deliver cost-effective IP protection for both UK and overseas portfolios. We are a “one stop shop” for trade marks.

Our team works with you from the earliest stages –creation, protection and exploitation strategies, clearance, filing, examination and publication – through to licensing, protection, enforcement, and portfolio management. We frequently work with trusted overseas attorneys and counsel to protect our clients’ trade mark rights internationally.

We also handle contentious intellectual property matters including opposition and cancellation proceedings in the UK Intellectual Property Office, IP litigation in the High Court and Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, company name disputes and domain name disputes.  We also regularly manage overseas agents in relation to the pursuit or defence of IP proceedings in other jurisdictions.  In addition to our trade mark expertise, we have expertise in other IP rights which often overlap such as copyright and designs..

We know that speed and clarity are essential. We provide concise, commercially focused advice within the timescales our clients require, whether it is for a single trade mark application or the ongoing management of a global IP portfolio.

We act for clients of every size, from start-ups to global corporations, across a wide variety of industries.
