Laura is a solicitor in the Family team. She works across all aspects of family law, including divorce and associated financial remedies, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation issues and private children matters.

Laura completed her training contract with the firm, sitting in the Private Client, Corporate, Commercial Property and Family teams. When in the Private Client team, Laura worked on a broad mix of offshore, onshore and contentious matters for individuals, family offices and trusts, advising on tax, succession and wealth planning. During her Corporate Seat, Laura assisted on a range of merger and acquisition transactions and corporate governance advisory work. Laura has also worked on a full range of commercial property transactions including re-financing deals, acquisitions, and sales whilst sat with the Commercial Property team.

This broad experience across the firm’s practice areas helps Laura to advise a wide range of Family clients.

Before commencing her training contract, Laura worked as a paralegal in the Insolvency and Restructuring team, where she undertook a wide range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency work. She also has extensive experience from the work she did as a litigation paralegal prior to joining Wedlake Bell, advising national clients on a range of commercial disputes.

  • Advising a UHNW individual in regard to all aspects of his wealth, succession and tax planning across multiple jurisdictions, including a contentious matrimonial tax dispute.
  • Assisting on highly contentious financial remedy matrimonial proceedings involving dissipation of assets and various conduct arguments.
  • Advising a UHNW individual in regard to the incorporation of a Family Investment Company (FIC), advising on shareholding structures and tax-efficient funding strategies to benefit subsequent generations and safeguard against potential future familial disputes.
  • Assisting on a complex HNW multi-jurisdictional divorce involving contested Hemain Injunction proceeding.
