Julian leads the hospitality and leisure group. As a corporate lawyer, his practice covers corporate, M&A, private equity, venture capital and related financings. Julian also brings significant international deal experience, having spent time in a couple of DLA Piper’s European offices.

Julian would describe his practice as being focused on hospitality and leisure and upon private equity, especially in the Technology and FinTech sectors. In the hospitality and leisure sector, he has a strong focus on hotel and restaurant transactions, Julian has acted for a range of hotel owners and operators, from five-star prominent London brand hotels to budget operators.

Career History

Julian trained in the Leeds Office of Dibb Lupton Broomhead, which became Dibb Lupton Alsop upon his qualification in 1996. After becoming an associate there, he moved to the London office in 2002 via a secondment to WorldCom EMEA (and having seen first-hand the chapter 11 restructuring as it happened during his secondment). He made partner at DLA Piper in 2008, and then moved to Dundas & Wilson in 2010. Julian then joined Wedlake Bell in 2013.

Julian has a degree in Law from The University of Leeds.
