Gillian Locke

Gilly has over 30 years’ experience as a litigator. She acts for a number of large utility companies advising in particular on multi-tenanted sites, meter disputes, fraudulent changes of tenancy and high-value debt collection.

With over 20 years expertise in insolvency litigation, Gilly’s particular specialism enables her to advise in cases of complex fraud, phoenixism and asset recovery to recoup funds from apparently insolvent companies and individuals for the benefit of utility companies.

Gilly also acts for companies and individuals, including insolvency practitioners.

• Unravelling a number of phoenix companies, resulting in a £350,000 recovery for a utility client.
• Negotiating settlements from directors of companies where funds have been wrongly taken.
• Defending a number of complex annulment applications, resulting in a number of payments in full recoveries for estates.
• Negotiating a substantial settlement from a golf club following successfully defending an injunction.
