Alex Davies

Alex is Head of the Family team. He represents clients from a broad range of backgrounds, including City professionals, doctors, lawyers and those from families with dynastic wealth or their trustees. He is a trusted strategist and works with others in the team to deliver a personal service and the best outcome for his clients.

He advises on the full range of family law issues, including divorce, financial remedy, disputes regarding children, cohabitation agreements and nuptial agreements.

Alex is well-regarded for his natural ability to approach his client’s concerns with discretion and empathy, as a priority. He has significant experience guiding families through challenging situations to find a pragmatic solution whilst ensuring that they are fully aware of their options

Alex is able to accept instructions from couples going through separation or divorce using the Resolution Together model of “one solicitor two clients”. This enables him to advise both parties to a divorce or separation if their circumstances are suitable.

• Advising and representing clients in relation to prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Many of his clients have inherited, or will inherit, significant dynastic wealth, often in trust structures, or are entrepreneurs wishing to safeguard their business interests.
• Representing a senior banker employed by a global bank and with assets in multiple jurisdictions in relation to divorce and financial remedy proceedings. There was zero trust between the divorcing couple, each of whom made allegations against the other as to domestic abuse. The case was, nonetheless, resolved by a negotiated agreement.
• Advising the trustees of a group of trusts in relation to the divorce proceedings of their principal beneficiary.
• Securing an order for equal shared care in respect of two children on behalf of a parent who travelled internationally for work on a regular basis.
• Representing the parent in a case of disputed child arrangements. His client has experienced a high level of hostility from the other parent. The case also involves a dispute as to the extent to which a child’s image and other personal details should be made public, including by social media, by one parent against the wishes of the other.
• Representing an international business-person with assets in multiple jurisdictions following a long marriage.
