As we (potentially) approach B-Day there is a lot going on in the world, much of it gloomy, with discussions about entering a recession, concerns regarding the potential of a general election resulting in a hung partliament and an increasingly polarised population. The need to manage pension schemes and beneficiaries’ benefits, docs, however remain. Our October 2019 edition of Pensions Compass focuses on the following topics:
- Clive’s Ready Reckoner, your one-stop-shop summary of the most important developnents in pensions law and policy;
- a reminder from me, of the importance of carefully identifying which set of Rules you should be applying to which beneficiaries’ benefits;
- an update from Justin regarding the latest reforms regarding investment consultancy; and
- Olivia, our trainee, presents her debut article on a recent Pensions Ombudsman decision concerning a potential pensions liberation scam.
We hope you enjoy this edition of the Pension Compass. If you have any questions regarding any of these topics please do get in touch.
