Tenants Under Stress – what can landlords and tenants do?

The recent collapse of household names like House of Fraser and the widely publicised restructuring of numerous others has brought CVAs and tenant insolvency back into the spotlight.

In this seminar we will consider the most important trends in recent administrations and CVAs from a property perspective, and ask whether there is any scope for landlords to challenge the process or are they simply between a rock and a hard place?

We will also look at lease-related issues in situations where tenants are struggling to pay the rents or have closed a unit to minimise ongoing losses.  We’ll discuss legal pitfalls to be aware of when taking a tough stance or giving concessions.  Do tenants hold all the aces?  How can landlords take the initiative?  Retail is grabbing the headlines, but the issues are relevant for all landlords.
