Mock Employment Tribunal

Following the abolition of Employment Tribunal fees, the number of claims being lodged has increased enormously and the upward trend looks set to continue. It has never been more important for businesses to get to grips with the Tribunal process and understand how it can be safely navigated.

For many, the prospect of litigation can be daunting. Our Mock Tribunal event will remove some of the mystery of the process and provide expert insight and training in a confidential environment.

Lawyers from Wedlake Bell’s Employment Team will present the event in conjunction with leading employment law barristers from Old Square Chambers.  For maximum authenticity, the mock hearing will be presided over by a part-time Employment Judge.

It will feature a two hour mini-case that will give you experience of some of the most important features of Tribunal hearings:

• presenting your case
• giving witness evidence
• cross-examination by counsel
• closing submissions to the Tribunal
• Tribunal judgment (plus an audience vote for fun!)

We will conclude with an open critique and comment session followed by drinks and canapes (on the terrace, weather permitting) where you will have the opportunity to network with peers and speak to experts.

This is an essential session for HR professionals and senior management who want to gain a better understanding of how to successfully defend and prevent employment claims.
