Cafcass (the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service, who represent children in family law cases in England) have reported on the number of new private law cases referred to them in August 2021.
They reported having received 3,386 cases that month – which is less than the 3,679 they received in August 2020.
The number of children involved in the above relevant cases also decreased – by 414 children (less than the 5,544 involved in August 2020, down to 5,130 in August 2021).
