Expertise 
Ben has specialised in charity law and associated regulatory and governance work since 2006. His experience includes advising on issues such as charity formation, registration and incorporation, joint ventures, mergers and collaborations, grant making, fundraising, sponsorship, and commercial participation agreements.
With deep sector knowledge and expertise, he works closely with a broad range of clients, assisting them in navigating legal and governance challenges as legislation evolves and third sector regulators introduce tighter scrutiny. This frequently involves dealing with these regulators, including the Charity Commission and the Privy Council. He also has a commercial licensing background, and advises on related concerns, including the protection and exploitation of charity brands and research.

- Advising on governance restructuring of international NGO umbrella organisation working to protect children.
- Drafting bespoke new Statutes for Oxford College to introduce new trustee board.
- Acting for heritage consultancy on project to assist charity dispose of unique real estate assets ahead of wind down.
- Advising high-profile maritime charity on the application of its assets towards the upkeep of its own property as part of joint projects with commercial third parties.
- Advising on UK charity law implications on disposal of property in higher risk jurisdictions, where property is held by the charity’s nominee to protect against requisition by local authorities.
