Recent experience
- Acting for the homemaker in financial remedy proceedings involving a high net worth property developer, where our client risked losing her home.
- Advising the husband in High Court proceedings involving £18m in assets, including a pre-marital trust and a business. We navigated trust access, pre-marital asset classification and a complex restructure of the business (held in trust for the children) to enable its sale. The matter settled at a round table meeting, avoiding trial.
- Representing a wife in divorce and financial matters involving complex, high-value assets held across the UK, Europe and the US, including hedge fund interests. We worked collaboratively to facilitate constructive settlement discussions and avoid litigation.
- Advising a wife in enforcing Swiss court orders in England against a fugitive husband. This involved tracing agents and multi-jurisdictional coordination.
- Obtaining legal funding for a financially dependent wife in acrimonious proceedings involving financial remedy, children and domestic abuse.
- Representing an 80-year-old retired businessman with Alzheimer’s with £6m in assets. We negotiated a favourable settlement after proving that significant proportion of the assets in dispute were pre-marital.
- Representing a city professional in financial remedy proceedings and successfully arguing for enhanced child maintenance based on her husband’s substantial bonus and share awards. We also secured a significant top-up award and a school fees order through a private financial dispute resolution hearing.
- Represented a US citizen in a transatlantic divorce involving complex pension arrangements, cross-border tax exposure and enforcement challenges. The case required coordination with dual-qualified experts and strategic resistance to inflated financial claims from the UK-based spouse.
- Represented a City entrepreneur with properties in London, rural England and Italy as well as business interests. The client was looking forward to retirement and their priority was for a clean-break settlement with no ongoing spousal maintenance obligation.
