Immigration and International Labour Law

Immigration is a constantly evolving area of the law.

We work with multinational corporations, senior executives and private individuals to secure and manage UK immigration status. We have particular expertise in the points-based immigration system, including for investors, entrepreneurs and sponsored workers.

We regularly advise on preparing and submitting:

  • Applications under tier 1 of the points-based system, including for entrepreneurs, investors and exceptional talent.
  • Immigration applications for innovators, start-ups and global talent.
  • Applications for skilled workers, students, sponsored workers and youth mobility workers under the global mobility immigration routes, as well as routes previously covered under tiers 2, 4, and 5.
  • Applications for permissions to enter or remain in the UK, including entry clearance, leave to enter, leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain.
  • Applications for naturalisation or registration as a British citizen.

International Labour Law

In addition to mainstream UK employment law, we have established iGlobal Law, a specialist subsidiary advising global companies on international labour and compliance law.

iGlobal provides a single contact point service covering over 100 jurisdictions worldwide. The team’s experience and knowledge of the world’s labour and compliance laws means they can answer legal questions quickly and cost-effectively, bringing in and managing leading local expertise where required.

iGlobal offers seamless, responsive and commercially aware guidance to global, regional and local HR and in-house legal teams on a 24-hour basis. The advice and service delivery are consistent and aligned across multiple countries.

Most of iGlobal’s clients are listed global businesses, many of which are headquartered in the US. Their sectors include business services, software, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, natural resources, and leisure.

Examples of iGlobal’s current or recent work include:

  • Operating an EMEA advice hotline for a global business services group.
  • Carrying out an employment contract harmonisation project across 17 jurisdictions for a global software group.
  • Advising on the best hiring structures and the related documentation in 15 jurisdictions for a leading UK university.
  • Advising on numerous cross-border reductions in force programmes involving countries in every part of the world.
  • Data privacy, whistleblowing and anti-bribery advice across the EU.
