Zara advises employers and employees on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including contractual employment issues, restrictive covenants, grievances, immigration-related employment concerns and cross-border matters.
During her secondment in Dubai, Zara gained experience advising international businesses on day-to-day employment and HR matters, including reviewing employment documentation and policies for compliance with local labour laws.
She also advised on employment disputes before the Small Claims Tribunal and the Court of First Instance in Dubai, and assisted with regulatory investigations involving senior executives.

- Preparing a legal advice note in relation to suspected employee embezzlement, including analysing the position under UAE Labour Law and detailing available civil court remedies.
- Assisting with regulatory investigations involving senior executives and supported witness preparation.
- Successfully defending a global asset servicing company against a claim of pregnancy-related discrimination in the Small Claims Tribunal in Dubai.
- Preparing disclosure and assisting case management in relation to claim for unpaid salary before the Court of First Instance, Dubai.
- Supporting an in-house HR team on regular employment law queries cross the UAE and GCC, including the application of workplace policies.
