Sophie Peach

Sophie is a Solicitor in the Charities team who advises a range of charity and not-for-profits across the sector on a variety of matters. Her expertise includes assisting in the establishment and structure of new charities, charity incorporations and conversions, charity transfers and mergers, governance issues, and regulatory compliance.

• Advising on the formation of new charities set up for various charitable purposes, involving regular contact with the Charity Commission.
• Advising charities in various forms on constitutional amendments.
• Assisting on applications for societies to become Royal Charter bodies.
• Undertaking governance reviews for clients and preparing written reports setting out findings and recommended actions.
• Advising on the re-organisation of charitable entities including the statutory powers and Charity Commission consents required to facilitate transfers of assets and liabilities to a new entity.
• Advising on the consolidation of special purpose funds, including applications to the Charity Commission for consent to amend purposes and release permanent endowment restrictions.

Sophie is a member of both the Law Society and the Charity Law Association.
