Daniella Bithray

Daniella is a solicitor in the Utilities team. She recovers high-value debts for gas and electricity suppliers by issuing claims in the High Court and County Court and bringing insolvency proceedings.

She also defends claims against utilities clients in the High Court and County Court.

• Recovering £1.5m for unidentified gas pass through charges (charges which gas suppliers pay to gas transporters for ‘unidentified gas’ that cannot be attributed to metered or estimated consumption, shrinkage or use of gas).
• Obtaining a judgment for over £800,000 where the defendant was disputing the accuracy of the electricity meter and had issued a counterclaim for several million pounds for losses resulting from the supplier objecting to a transfer.
• Obtaining a judgment for over £120,000 for gas and electricity supplies to a multi-occupied premises where each supply had been made through a single meter.
• Obtaining a judgment for over £115,000 for an electricity supply that had not been registering through the meter because it had been tampered with.
• Acting in disputes relating to billing, meter accuracy and industry charges.
• Defending various claims against our clients, including a claim for losses resulting from the disconnection of an illegally reconnected supply, claims resulting from suppliers objecting to customers’ attempts to transfer to an alternative supplier and claims relating to alleged ‘secret’ commissions paid to brokers.
