Blaise is a contentious construction solicitor with experience advising a broad range of clients including developers, employers, main contractors, subcontractors and consultants across all aspects of construction disputes and issues arising during live projects.
Blaise advises on disputes at every stage, from pre-action correspondence through to final resolution. He is proficient in a wide range of dispute resolution methods and has experience advising clients on bringing and defending claims in the Technology and Construction Court, and has experience representing clients at mediations and in settlement negotiations.
He has particular expertise in adjudications where he has acted on disputes involving payment, valuation, defects and termination, as well as related enforcement proceedings.
Blaise has significant experience in fire safety and building safety matters. He has advised freeholders, investment managers and property management companies on claims involving combustible cladding, defective cavity barriers, insulation and fire stopping issues in both commercial premises and residential buildings. His experience covers the full lifecycle of such claims, from initial investigation, expert engagement and risk management through to dispute resolution. Blaise guides clients through the recovery of funds for remediation and the complex legislative regime governing building safety defects.
He is experienced in guiding clients through emerging issues during live projects, and regularly advises clients on dispute avoidance strategies, working across a range of standard form contracts including JCT and NEC.
Blaise has worked with a number of clients operating across various sectors, including the education, agricultural, science & technology, clean energy, residential development and retail sectors.
