Aimee Matthews

Aimee specialises in family law, with a particular emphasis on the financial aspects of divorce, dissolution and separation. She has acted for clients with complex and high-value asset portfolios, including those involving multi-layered trust arrangements and sophisticated business structures. Aimee is experienced in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution, regularly advising clients through to final hearings as well as achieving negotiated settlements.

Her practice also includes advising on pre- and post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, cohabitation agreements and judicial separation proceedings. She has considerable experience in urgent domestic violence matters, providing clear and compassionate guidance in time-sensitive situations.

Aimee also advises on child arrangements upon separation, including issues ranging from shared care arrangements to relocation to other jurisdictions.

• Advising on a high-value, multi-jurisdictional separation agreement and associated judicial separation proceedings, with an estimated asset base of approximately £30m.
• Advising on the legal and procedural aspects of a relocation agreement to the Middle East, including coordination with notaries and the UAE embassy.
• Acting for the trustees of a trust valued at approximately £100m in the context of ongoing divorce proceedings involving one of the beneficiaries.
• Advising and representing a client in complex financial remedy proceedings involving substantial assets, issues of non-disclosure, and related High Court litigation.
