About Jonathan

Expertise Down arrow

Jonathan has more than 35 years’ experience advising clients in connection with their non-contentious commercial real estate requirements. His experience spans the full spectrum of transactional requirements of real estate asset owners, investors and occupiers, including acquisitions, disposals (including transfers of a going concern), high-value debt funding (on the borrower side) and investment asset restructuring.

He also advises on tenant leasehold portfolio management (including Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals, lease regears and lease extensions), as well as asset management and redevelopment, providing strategic advice throughout.

Sectors with which Jonathan has been consistently involved throughout his career include hospitality and property investment. In the hospitality sector, he has advised one of the most enduring and largest restaurant brands in the UK in connection with its real estate requirements for several decades. The investment clients he works with principally focus on high-value central London assets and include family offices representing offshore interests.

Responsive and accessible, Jonathan establishes close, long-term professional relationships with his clients, some of whom he has been advising for two or three decades. This lends itself to a deep understanding of the commercial and operational requirements of their businesses. He offers clear commercial advice in the context of any prevailing risks. He discourages point scoring in negotiations, and focuses on identifying the most efficient route to getting the deal done on the basis that achieves the stated objectives.
