He has spent the past 13 years specialising in utilities litigation relating to non-payment of bills, late billing, fraudulent Change of Tenancies, SMART meter failures, late meter installations and meter accuracy disputes.

  • Obtaining payment of £96,000 from a private commercial landlord of multiple occupancy student accommodation, which included disputes relating to incorrect industry charges, meter accuracy and incorrect tariffs.
  • Recovering payment following a trial relating to theft of utility and limitation.
  • Ongoing enforcement to recover judgments totalling £45,000 from a defendant with property assets valued in the region of £2.3m
  • Acting in relation to a disputed bankruptcy petition in respect of charges totalling £103,000 regarding meter accuracy and billing issues.
  • Acting on a winding up petition in respect of charges in the sum of £450,000 with a dispute regarding legal entity, through charges and renewal/termination of a contract. The full charges were paid.
  • Enforcing a judgment for damages by way of sale against a property occupied by a large community of travellers, requiring additional applications and consideration of the liability issues relating to eviction from and clearance of the property. This required specific planning with the High Court enforcement officer in respect of the eviction and collection or disposal of any items at the property.
