Elizabeth advises clients on a broad range of non-contentious commercial, intellectual property (IP), IT and data protection matters. Elizabeth regularly drafts and negotiates general commercial agreements, including framework agreements, consultancy agreements, IT contracts and terms and conditions. Elizabeth also provides strategic advice on brand protection, licensing, software development and the exploitation of intellectual property rights.

Elizabeth also advises clients on a wide range of data-related legal issues. Her expertise spans the implementation of data protection frameworks, advising on data subject access requests (DSARs) and data breaches, conducting data protection impact assessments, and preparing and reviewing data sharing and processing arrangements, including those involving international data transfers. She advises on roles and responsibilities under data protection laws and the impact of data protection compliance choices on businesses.

Elizabeth supports a diverse range of clients, ranging from innovative start-ups to multinational corporations, across various sectors, including hospitality and leisure, technology, food and beverage, retail, property, the creative industries, and the charitable sector.

  • Advising a software consultancy on the provision of agile services to a Tokyo-headquartered fashion business via a framework agreement and the delivery of augmentation services to a major multinational technology company.
  • Acting as part of the two-member outsourced data protection officer team for a national sports governing body advising on day-to-day data protection compliance matters, including responding to DSARs, implementing appropriate policies and procedures and dealing with data protection breaches and complaints.
  • Advising a real estate investment firm on property management arrangements at several of its large London estates and providing data protection compliance advice on complex technology issues, including facial and fingerprint recognition access systems.
  • Supporting a start-up London-based print studio with the implementation of consultancy agreements, terms and conditions of sale, data protection documentation and advising on IP and brand protection.
  • Advising a well-known burger chain restaurant on the implementation of a loyalty programme and mobile app. The work included drafting terms and conditions, advising on the arrangement with the third party provider and providing data protection advice.
  • Advising a high-end hotel in relation to an agreement with a global streaming production company. Work included advising on the complex risks associated with providing the production company with access to the hotel and negotiating the terms of the arrangement with the production company.
