Alex is a solicitor in the Construction team. His experience includes acting and advising on a variety of construction issues with a focus on contentious matters. He works closely with the Construction Disputes team on a broad range of construction projects from claims in the Technology and Construction Court to adjudications.
Alex acts for a variety of clients, including developers, contractors, landlords, high net worth individuals, schools, restaurants, specialist contractors and charitable trusts.
Experience
Acting for a defendant, a specialist cladding contractor, in a multi-party litigation in the Technology and Construction Court involving the defence of a Building Liability Order (BLO).
Advising clients on their rights to pursue a claim in relation to historic building safety issues under the Building Safety Act and Defective Premises Act.
Advising and supporting in a variety of adjudications, including representing the freeholder and successfully defending an adjudication relating to a multi-million pound hotel refurbishment contract.
Advising a charitable trust in relation to a claim against a contractor regarding defective works performed under a JCT Design and Build Contract.
Advising a residential housing developer in relation to a dispute with a specialist contractor over works to a multi-million pound build of residential riverside apartments.
Advising a residential housebuilder on the terms of a development agreement in relation to the construction of affordable housing, shared ownership and buy-to-let homes.
