Expertise

Kathryn has over 15 years’ experience advising clients on commercial real estate matters with a focus on investment and development projects, often with planning, tax, environmental, overage and conditionality considerations. She has advised on a number of portfolio transactions in recent years and has extensive experience in asset management matters and the real estate aspects of financing and corporate transactions.

Kathryn has broad cross-sector experience, including retail, industrial, office and multifamily, with particular experience in the logistics sector.

Recent Experience

At her previous firm, Kathryn’s recent experience includes:

  • Acting for the owner of a 100 acre logistics and industrial site; advising on the letting of the first 220,000 sq. ft. unit to a major UK retailer and the subsequent sale of part of the site with outline planning consent for c. 1 million sq. ft. of B8 use to a large logistics facilities developer.
  • Acting for LondonMetric on its acquisition of 10 single let urban logistics properties for £55m from the Act Foundation.
  • Acting for Oxenwood Real Estate on the sale of a £207m UK logistics portfolio to Ascendas REIT.
  • Acting for LondonMetric on its conditional acquisition of the 40-acre Bedford Link Logistics park site in Bedford. Following completion and the grant of planning consent for up to 670,000 sq. ft, of logistics space, advising on the development of and the first three pre-lets of units at the site.
  • Acting for Oxenwood Real Estate, in joint venture with a Canadian institutional investor, on its acquisition of a portfolio of prime logistics properties in the UK for £286m.

Career History

Kathryn joined Wedlake Bell in January 2020

Kathryn was previously at Jones Day where she trained. She qualified into the Real Estate team in 2006 and became a Partner in 2015.

Kathryn has a first class honours degree in Law from the University of Manchester and completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction at Nottingham Law School.
