Staying on top of GDPR compliance
The GDPR has now been in force for over a year and has escalated the importance of data protection for businesses, public authorities and charities alike. The GDPR is significantly more prescriptive than the preceding law, with more stringent penalties for non-compliance and requires more active engagement from organisations. This seminar will take a look at the practical impact of the GDPR, how organisations can use the services of a data protection officer (DPO) to ensure compliance and takes a look at US data protection legislation in the form of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
The seminar is divided into the following three sessions:
- The GDPR, one year on ( James Castro-Edwards, Wedlake Bell)
- Do you need a DPO? (Mick Gorrill, ProDPO)
- Comparison between the GDPR and the CCPA (Scott Giordano, Spirion)
This session, co-hosted by Wedlake Bell and Spirion, will consider the practical implications for organisations, along with insights gained from the speakers’ experiences, and make practical suggestions on how to comply.
Who should attend this seminar?
This seminar will be of interest to General Counsel, risk managers, compliance managers, data protection officers and anyone whose job function includes data protection compliance.
