Jonathan Wright's Service Teams
Jon specialises in data protection and cyber security and is experienced in advising domestic and international clients on a variety of complex commercial and data protection issues.
Jon's experience includes providing day to day advisory work for a major international bank, which involves advising on complex data protection issues, and he advises global companies on the processing and handling of employee personal and sensitive personal data, both within and outside the EEA. Jon regularly manages global data protection compliance projects for multinationals, which involves managing local counsel across numerous jurisdictions, coordinating with clients’ local offices and local data protection authorities and providing practical solutions to the client. Jon is also experienced in assisting clients with data subject access requests and dealing with the ICO.
Jon trained with Wedlake Bell and qualified in September 2013. Prior to joining the IP and Commercial team, Jon worked in Wedlake Bell's Employment team where he assisted with day-to-day HR matters, including drafting employment documentation and advising on data protection issues in the workplace.
Prior to commencing his training contract, Jon spent a year in Wedlake Bell's IP and Commercial team and during his training contract he spent 6 months on secondment at the world's leading premium drinks company.
