Barry Weatherill C.B.E.'s Service Teams
Barry has many years' experience as a corporate lawyer in intellectual property exploitation and in advising high-net worth individuals on wealth protection. A continuing feature of his practice has been advisory work for UK domiciled and non-UK domiciled individuals resident in the UK on UK personal tax and inheritance tax issues.
Barry qualified in 1966 and became a partner the same year. He was Senior Partner at Wedlake Bell as well as head of the media, IP and commercial team. He retired from the partnership to work as a consultant in October 2003.
His extra-curricular experience includes the chairmanship or board membership of several quoted and unquoted companies, as well as a trustee of several pension schemes. He was a member of the Committee of Management of Wimbledon (with responsibilities for media and marketing from 1981-2002) and Chairman of Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, a major UK charity, from 2001-2008.
He retains his interest in tennis as the current Chairman of the Council of International Clubs (a network of 36 clubs around the world) and in his role as Trustee and Vice-President of the All England L.T.C.
